JhameelJhameel

Jhameel presents a blend of orchestral instruments, makeshift percussion, pop vocal melodies, and ambient synthesizers that creates an unfamiliar yet warm atmosphere.

From sounds like the splash of water and the collision of silverware in "Opium and the Royal Children," to the violin and cello ensemble comprising the eerie timbre of "Child-bearer," or the grandiose mix of electronic drums and live strings in "Tower of Babel," his music proves eclectic, refreshing, and catchy.

The lyrics, which are as delicate and complex as the sound, revolve around such topics as Middle Eastern womanhood, homosexuality, and urban prostitution, giving voice to the silent margins of society.

Night Driving in Small TownsNight Driving in Small Towns

Night Driving in Small Towns are land dwellers. Having moved from small south Georgia towns to the city of Atlanta in 2008, the band has seen its share of topography. So has their music. Having navigated the spaces between artsy folk pop and brazen indie rock, their sound is sometimes gutsy, sometimes reserved, but always premeditated.

The group's musical content originates from the songwriting duo of Andrea Rogers and Colby Wright. The two have written together for almost a decade, getting their craft down to a weird science in the process. Wright provides a lush musical backdrop for Rogers's intimate lyrics, an amalgamation that has been described as a "potent cocktail" of sound (Michael Shaunessy, Flagpole). This intoxicating vibe led to Night Driving's inclusion in a 2008 list of the "Top 25 Bands on Myspace" as determined by Rolling Stone, as well as their subsequent inclusion on the roster of Atlanta's Lower 40 Records.

The band's debut album on the Lower 40 label will be released April 20, 2010. Night Driving in Small Towns are currently playing regionally in support of the record.

Kelly Richie

Kelly Richey Band

"Stevie Ray Vaughn trapped in a woman's body with Janis Joplin screaming to get out." This is how one critic describes Kelly Richey, a blues-based rock virtuoso. Buoyed by critical praise and fiercely loyal fans, The Kelly Richey Band tours extensively bringing their electric live experience to venues throughout the US, Canada, and Europe. Richey's involvement with music goes way beyond recording and performing. A longtime private guitar instructor, in 2003 Richey began developing a Guitar Workshop and a Blues History program to take into the schools. In 2004, she became an "Artist on Tour" with the Cincinnati Arts Association, and in 2005, was added to the Kentucky Center's artist roster. That same year, Richey began delivering an adult education program that included a six-week Guitar Instruction class. The following year, Richey created Music for Change, a 501(c)(3) non-profit committed to music education in today's public schools; a variety of programs offering live performances, lectures, and interactive participation serve to facilitate learning opportunities for students while keeping the history of American music alive and prospering.

JenningsJennings

Jennings is the one-name moniker of NYC based siren Mary Jennings. Standing five feet, one inch tall Jennings is small in stature, her music however, is anything but. Drawing influences from artists like Imogen Heap, Annie Lennox, Sarah McLachlan and Moby, Jennings' music reflects an enormous strength and drive that is uniquely hers. 2009 was a banner year for Mary professionally. Jennings has worked with Billboard charting songwriters, toured with national artists and has had music placed in a number of popular television shows. While that small taste of success has been nice, Jennings values a connection with the audience most. "Live performances give me such a rush. It is one of the best parts about being a musician. To me, it was what truly brings the music to life. To know that you only have a few moments to capture and audience and keep them engaged long enough to fall in love with you and your music is a difficult task, but one that I wouldn't trade for any other profession."

The LatelyThe Lately

The Lately is a Madison Indie Rock band, that pops as much as it rocks. Though influenced by blues and the swagger of the south, The Lately writes songs that sound distinctly Midwestern. The band recorded it's newest EP with WAMI award winning producer Marc Golde, a selection that rotates stylistically with each track. The first single, Shoe Stains, is a fun romp through a twisted tango. The band members are Sam Farrell, Adam Hatton, Ryan Eick, and Mike Van Schyndel.
